Getting Around Skagway

Skagway is a very easy port to navigate. Skagway can currently port 4 cruise ships at a time. Based on which dock your ship is assigned will determine how you get to shore. If your ship docks at Ore Dock or Broadway Dock, you can simply walk off your ship's gangway into the town. If your ship docks at the Railroad Dock, you will be required to take a water shuttle or a shuttle bus.

Modes of Transportation

1. Walk. From the cruise dock, it's approximately a 15 minute walk to get into town.

2. SMART shuttle. The SMART shuttle is a great way to get into town. They operate daily from 7am-9pm. The shuttle runs from the ship dock to downtown. Cost is $5 per person for an all day pass or $3 per person per ride.

3. Car rental. There are several rental car companies to chose from and they can have the car waiting for you just off the ship dock. Renting a car is a great way to see Emerald Lake and the Yukon Territory.
